Eric Chast is an expert in operations, budgeting & finance, and organizational behavior. He excels at finding efficiencies and building systems in rapidly changing environments, allowing entrepreneurial organizations the ability to invest the most in their team and their growth.
Chast is an experienced Democratic campaign manager and nonprofit administrator. He has managed the payroll and HR compliance department of a national field campaign organization with an over $1 million salaried payroll and a seasonal hourly payroll with a monthly range of over $1 million. He has overseen budgeting and operations for a $1.5 million statewide advocacy organization during which he worked lockstep with the Executive Director to maintain staffing levels and increase programming during a period of reduced funding. Most recently at LSG, Chast conducted a complete revamping of staff policies, procedures, and benefits – strengthening leadership’s commitment to follow the ideals set forth by the Kennedy family.
Chast has staffed, managed, or consulted on nearly 40 Democratic campaigns since joining the 2008 Obama Campaign in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. He has overseen fundraising operations of New England candidates topping $5 million raised since 2013, served as Treasurer for local, statewide, and federal candidates, and developed mathematical equations to predict turnout, win count, and GOTV prioritization in multi-candidate races.
Chast once founded his own nonprofit focused on discovering ways to increase millennial turnout, wonked out as a steering committee member of Roosevelt Institute | Boston and was a founding member of a never-heard-of app that would allow restaurant patrons to order, pay, and split bills from their phones.
Chast lives in Arlington with his fiancé and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Hult International Business School and a B.S. from Appalachian State University (and attended that one time it beat Michigan).
