Anastasia Nicolaou is an all-hands on deck professional whose experience has taught her the importance of well-honed communications. She is known for her thorough research and ability to craft thoughtful, strategic messaging that effectively conveys goals without losing substance.
Prior to joining the Liberty Square Group, Ms. Nicolaou most recently worked in strategic communications and email management at the Barbara Lee Political Offices and Barbara Lee Family Foundation in Cambridge, MA. In her work for the Political Offices, she was involved with many aspects of political campaigns over two cycles and countless special elections, including principal management; strategy development; email fundraising; communications outreach; and research. At the Foundation, Ms. Nicolaou assisted in the grant-making process, managed logistics and special projects, and worked with the communications team to develop messaging and launch plans surrounding non-partisan research.
Ms. Nicolaou also has broad experience in state government from her time working in the Constituent Services Office of Massachusetts Governor Deval L. Patrick. There, she interfaced with the general public and public officials on behalf of the Governor; connected the citizens of the Commonwealth with state services and resources; and drafted policy responses on myriad of issues. As an intern in the Executive Office of Administration and Finance, Ms. Nicolaou helped manage the contract process for the Commonwealth in 2012, which sought to use innovation financing to fund models targeting homelessness and teenage recidivism in Massachusetts.
Ms. Nicolaou has a Masters of Liberal Arts from Boston University, where she also earned a Professional Certification in Cheese Studies. She received her Bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Simmons College.
